We had our Parent Teacher Conference PTC on the 25th February at Singapore Genius School Krabi. This was a joint meeting for both Singapore Genius School Krabi and Singapore Nursery and Preschool Krabi. Most importantly, many issues were discussed and shared with the parents. The meeting was a very active one and the parents were ever ready to share their thoughts and ideas. As a matter of fact, meetings like these help the school to mature faster. We also celebrated the birthday of Subal in school. Everyone was so excited and we sang him a loud birthday song. His parents were also present for his birthday. As usual the ice cream cake stole the limelight. Subal has been in our school almost a year and you can see the progress he has made. On behalf of the school and the teacher we wish Subal a very happy birthday.
This week, we concentrated on how to insert photos or pictures in a document, how to change the size of the picture, and how to move the picture to make it fit in a document. Students were tasked to search for their favorites (9 photos to be exact) and copy and paste those in only one document and create a gallery. Above all, the goal is to apply their learnings to the lesson.
This week, we concentrated on how to change the size of the text, change the color of the text, and change the style of the text. Students were tasked to create a short poem about their chosen theme. They also were tasked to search a picture related to their poem to serve as its background. They applied their learnings to create an attractive output.
This week students began their first humanities class and learned about Greek mythology to combine a bit of history and literature together. They read some stories and had a discussion on why these stories were written and most importantly what they meant to the Greeks.
The children practiced writing their letters properly. They worked to make their letters look nice. They used the pentagram “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”. Somehow the students felt that this was really an important lesson, and they needed to improve their penmanship.
The children played badminton. They enjoyed playing together and being active. Most of the skids have improved and are playing better. The kids also really enjoyed dancing and learning new dance moves during Zumba. Now that the lessons are just once are month, they seem to treasure their Zumba activities more.
Singapore Mathematics Award
This week, students strived hard just to get this award. Interestingly everyone did their best but only one got the Singapore Mathematics Award. The award went to Shyama Riveros, an upper primary student who got almost perfect scores in every activity she did and gaining 90.4 %, the highest percentage in their activities this week. Furthermore, she is always so passionate about doing her math activities and eager to finish everything on time.
Star of the Week
This week’s star of the week went to Kalavati Riveros. Kalavati has worked hard in all of her classes and has taken on a leadership role in lower primary. She is always willing to ask questions and try her best.
Chess Champion of The Week
The real battle is always between Gerrit and Rajpal. It can get more intense at times as they are brothers. Undoubtedly this sometimes can pose a problem as both are so enthaustic so the emotions are really high. This week our winner was Gerrit Tulsi.
