Our citizenship classes are meant to instill in our students good values and how they can achieve to bring the best in our students. Students learned about the importance of being well mannered and how they should use their manners when speaking to people, their classmates and teachers. The students discussed different scenarios and had a meaningful discussion during this lesson.
Singapore Math (Upper)
Maths was fun, we concentrated on the multiplication of decimals. They understand that it’s as simple as multiplying whole numbers, and the only challenge is to count the number of decimal points in two numbers to get the final answer. We did the mental math and lots of worksheets about it and we will continue this kind of practice next week and insert some word problems.
Singapore Math (Lower)
Curious week! We concentrated on the division of whole numbers, specifically on the problems with less than 10 as the answer. We practiced first their 2 – 7 times tables using the mental math before we proceed to division. They were tasked to do lots of worksheets and activities for them to perfectly know how to divide numbers that include 2 – 7 times tables. They’ve also tried to do some worksheets about 8 and 9 times tables but they were not that good at it, so we will continue this practice next week.
Science (Upper)
For Science, we concentrated on the parts and functions of the heart. They learned that our heart consists of two different blood vessels, which are the arteries and veins. This is to help the heart function and do its work. They learned the different parts and functions of each part and understands how the process of oxygenation and deoxygenation works. They also did worksheets about the parts and some vocabulary words about it. We will have a short test next meeting about it to see if they learned something or not.
Science (Lower)
This week we focused on exploring the matter. They started searching words about it using the word search worksheet and tried to describe each thing they found in the worksheet and try to instill those words to define a matter. They also learned the three states of matter, which are solid, liquid, and gas.
Subjects that the students can relate tend to be more interesting and fun. Just like our Robotics which is more hands on, they seem now to have more fun. But Robotics has been actually now become more challenging as there is not much help and they lack instructions. With just 3 slides of the Dolphin that they created last week was just impossible!
Star of the Week
Our Star of the week went to Buddh. Buddh is very hardworking and takes all his task seriously. Last Friday was also the last day for him at our school as he will be going to Australia to continue his education. From Singapore Genius School Krabi, we wish all the best, a happy and safe stay there. We will surely going to miss him.
