Week 23 Singapore Genius School Krabi – Primary Education
This week the students did miss a lot of lessons because of our year end exams. Its time for the school to check on the progress of the students. Through exam, students can know their knowledge. It evaluates student’s skills and enables them to overcome their nerves. It is an efficient way to measure knowledge. And also helps to measure how much they have learned. Actually it promotes competition among students. With this we wish our students best of luck. As usual, students that like durians were invited to taste some durians.
We indulge our students to speed up with their workbook. And providing them evaluation through giving examinations. It has convinced the teachers how the students have improved in their comprehension skills.
It was a challenging working with different proficiency. There was great improvement from Sona Tulsi as she finishes her workbook, despite of her young age. And for Kalavati as she rushed up to meet with the requirements. Focus has he aligned himself in the program. This week they prove their achievements through the completion of their work books.
Following the right procedures or steps in solving word problems in Singapore Math, helps to makes the answer more precise and accurate. This week we studied about the steps in solving word problems. It involves the following, first understand the problem, second list down the given facts and the missing one, third use diagrams or methods, and lastly, check the answer. In the third step, students learned about the bar method wherein they will use bars as representatives of the given facts in the problem and then they will find the answer using it.
Singapore Science Lower
Completing a task is very essential and important to student learning. This week we completed some activity sheets that involved living and non-living things. Also, they took their first quiz in science and astonishingly they got almost perfect scores.
Singapore Science Higher
This week we continued to study the parts and functions of each part of the male reproductive system. We also discuss the significance and roles in the lives of each person. Also, the students took their first quiz in science and almost all of them got a perfect score.
Hard work and optimism turns things from impossible to possible. This week, students continued to sketch each part of the picture. At first, they found it difficult but after trying numerous times, they were now able to do it by themselves and hopefully they will finish it next week.
Presenting things in an organized and appealing way makes the presentation more attractive. This week, we studied how to make presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint. Students enjoyed presenting their names, addresses, and favorites design using this software.
The library is a quiet place where lots of students love to stay and they also can have all the books for free. That’s why today we tackled on how to organize books properly. We discussed the 6 tips of organizing books whether in school or in the house.
This week the students started to learn Thai dancing. Teacher Kra started to play the music and let students dance with the song. This was their first time to learn Thai dance. An excellent opportunity to
indulge in Thai culture.
This week sports focus was on racket games. Tuesday we played table tennis at the school playroom. This sport is a bit strange for our students, but everybody tried their best to be involved in the game. On Thursday, all students from Nursery and Primary went out to play badminton. And it was an amazing afternoon for everybody, especially Focus. Focus has been learning from his father badminton at home. His mom also bought him a junior badminton racket.
The great fight for the trophy is usually reserved for Friday. Rajpal attempted 6 times against the contender, Gerrit. But he could not take the title. It was a close fight and yet Gerrit proved that he is the chess champion for this week.
