We had our very first Parent Teacher Conference (PTC) on the 22nd February, 2019. We were so lucky as all the parents attended. The meeting started at about 9.05am with a little delay as the students had to settle down before we could convey the meeting. This meeting was without the presents of the students. The agenda of the meeting was shared with the parents and guardians a week before.
The plans of the school were shared with the parents and how the parents can take an active role in their child’s development. The parents were excited and thrilled with the academic programs for the nursery students. They were amazed with the computer programs that we had planned for the kids. We had their approval with the computer program that we had lined up for them and the The Key Words program unique here at our school. They were shocked with our Singapore Maths program and how they could help their child succeed.
Parents were advised that it was best that the child be registered for the full 2 years of nursery to benefit our programs.
For the Primary, the parents were so happy that we were already doing 2 lessons per day on 1 student to 1 teacher reading classes. They also felt the immediate effect of this drastic step that we took for the reading in the last 1 month. Their children had made tremendous visible improvements overall. Our spelling test was result driven. Our computer classes are well known in Krabi, so our full time students were also benefitting from this program. And how our computer class were giving the students 1 child 1 computer, the best possible experience to embrace into the IT world. The kids now have all their own e mail account in the computer classes. 2 lap top stations will be set up for the Primary students. So now all messages to Primary will be by e mails. The parents were informed about the Maths and other subjects that the school was doing to help improve the students. As for sports, all of the students have seen an improvement to their overall fitness level.
The meeting ended with some suggestions from parents and we close the meeting at about 10.15am.
